Most modern cars rely on cameras and sensors for safety features like emergency braking and lane assist. After a repair, these often need recalibrating so they see the road correctly. Our IMI-accredited technicians carry out this calibration as part of your repair at our Maidenhead workshop.

What is ADAS?
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — the cameras, radar and sensors that help keep you safe on the road. You'll find them on most cars built in the last few years, often without realising.

When does my car need calibrating?
The cameras and sensors are set to precise angles. If one is knocked, moved or replaced — even by a few millimetres — it can misjudge distances or miss a hazard. Calibration is usually needed after:
- Windscreen replacement (the front camera often sits behind the glass)
- Front or rear bumper and grille repairs
- Wheel alignment, tracking or suspension work
- Replacing a camera, radar unit or sensor
- Any accident, even a minor bump
- A driver-assistance warning light appearing on the dashboard
Why accreditation matters
ADAS calibration is safety-critical work, so it pays to know who's doing it. Three of our team are IMI-accredited ADAS Calibration Technicians. IMI Accreditation is the motor industry's standard benchmark of current competence, governed by the Institute of the Motor Industry, and accredited technicians are listed on the IMI's public Professional Register.
